to answer back sarcastically; to retort; respond with a sarcastic remark

Example:

他对朋友们的批评置若罔闻, 甚至反唇相讥。
Tā duì péngyou men de pīpíng zhìruòwǎngwén, shènzhì fǎnchúnxiāngjī.
He not only ignored the criticism of his friends but went so far as to answer back (or retort) sarcastically.

他对大家的批评置若罔闻, 甚至反唇相讥。
tā duì dàjiā de pīpíng zhìruòwǎngwén, shènzhì fǎnchúnxiāngjī.
He not only ignored the criticism of the others but went so far as to be sarcastic.
